Established in 1955, the United Way of Pickaway County Inc. (UWPC) is a locally incorporated non-profit organization that is governed by a local board of trustees.  UWPC serves three main functions in the community.

Historically, the two most recognizable roles are that as fundraiser and subsequently funder.  UWPC provides a convenient means through which contributions can be made for distribution to approved cooperating partner agencies functioning in Pickaway County.  Each year the Board of Trustees examines community problems, evaluates programs, reviews funding requests, researches new program opportunities, and coordinates alignment among other funders.  Each board member serves on one of our investment committees that review and evaluate those programs submitting investment requests.

UWPC places an even greater focus on its third role as a community partner.  The greatest community impact can be achieved with this role as it is the true uniting of resources and people to focus on our local needs and build a stronger community – thus making Pickaway better.  UWPC leads and collaborates in multiple initiatives that will make a difference in the lives of our local residents – our families, our friends, and our neighbors.
